This error usually means:
You didn’t join the required Google Group.
You’re not signed in with the same Google account linked to Play Store.
How to fix:
Use the same Gmail as your Play Store account.
Join this group: Get 12 Testers.
After joining, re-open the app testing link.
Joining the Google Group ensures:
Access to test apps shared with the group.
Avoidance of the "Item not found" error.
Whitelisting for closed testing on Play Console.
Complete these 3 steps before uploading a new app:
Step 1 - Add Tester Group: Play Console → Test & release → Testing → Closed testing → Testers → choose “Google Groups” and add get12testers@googlegroups.com.
Step 2 - Set Countries: In the Countries/regions tab select all countries (or the ones you want) and save.
Step 3 - Submit for Review: Click “Send for review” and wait for approval before publishing testers.

Step 1: Enable All Countries
Go to Countries / Regions and select All countries.
Step 2: Add Testers
Add this group under Closed Testing → Testers:

Step 3: Send for Review
Click Send changes for review and wait for approval.
Step 4: Share Link
Step 4: After approval, copy the tester link and submit upload form.
Step 5: Apply for Production
After 14 days of testing, click Apply for production.
Step 6: Publish
Upload your final bundle under Production and submit for review.
